Our animals all inside

Inside the big covered yard opposite the Barn. The bullocks are at the back .It looks very different from the 3rd June last year when we had our daughter Mary's weddin reception here.

The 18 month old bullocks (actually most of them are heifers). There are only 6 of them.

Gussie and Gertie don't sem too fussed about being behind bars instead of rooting in the woods. The first piglets are due in just over a month.

The hens hate to be caged.

The ewes would have been coming in ready for lambing by next week any way.

I hope this will be our only casualty. He should have been eaten earlier really. Every other time we have had too many cockerels (like the time I bought 4 Rhode Island cocks thinking they were young pullets), I have planned on eating the excess and the fox has eaten them before I could bring myself to do it.
